I suddenly realised that I didn’t add a crucial photo to my last post, a picture of the curved wall! Now whilst I could wait until my next post, I thought I would do a quick post now as I have the time and the inclination.
You may also notice the bricks on the floor, the foundation if you like, of our hand built kitchen. Of course I’m still building it, but what we have at the moment is functional and I’ll try and bring you some pictures in my next real post.
Eddy what has happened, I was catching up very well and looking forward to news of the new baby arrival for Christmas of 2017 and then nothing…. No more news at all from your blog for all of 2018 Is it my connection or have you stopped?
I have to admit that our new arrival has distracted me quite a bit 🙂 I hope to post again, I just don’t know when, but hopefully whilst the photos I have in my draft post still represent the children as they are at the time I press the publish button 🙂
I do have plenty of work to do with our own building project but I had taken your family into my heart and truly enjoyed reading your adventures, often in the wee small hours of the night, just like Pat in Brandon, so when I got to this year long gap my heart sank and I thought all sorts of nightmarish thoughts about what could possibly have happend. I’m 65 and have had to shoulder some sadnesses in my life so my imagination may jump to bad conclusions more readily than someone elses. Thank you for waylaying my fears.
On a brighter note I made your flapjack recipe yesterday, I put cranberries in mine too…. Its definitely a recipe I will use again.
Journey well in 2019 and may the Magnificent Creator of this Earth look after you all.
Just in case you dont get notifications then I thought I would let you know that I posted again today 🙂 Happy New Year!
Hi Eddy, I’m trawling as well, and although I ‘liked’ this episode the first time now I find I can’t see what you mean by the bricks on the floor that are the foundation for the kitchen, unless they are the three floating sort of beams coming out of the wall. Are they what you do mean?
You are exactly right, this was the first course of bricks, which in the final kitchen are 12 courses (rows) high which support shelfs and the final worktop.
Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas 🙂
I like your curved wall. Do you have a floor plan on one of your older posts? It would be interesting to see it. As a new follower, I’m playing catch-up.
No floor plan I’m afraid David, to be honest we have stayed so far away from the original it would not be representative of what the house is turning into. In saying that I think I might draw one up soon as it will help to explain the photos that I hope to post in the coming weeks.
Thank you for taking an interest by the way, it’s nice to know that someone is trawling through pages long since forgotten 🙂
Steady on the Pinotage Pete, it should be in the wok, not on it 🙂 Enjoy your evening and your food 🙂
Oops! Shows that I wasn’t paying attention Eddy…Blame a bottle of Pinotage, and being busy cooking a Chinese on the Wok!
Thanks for the curvaceous update old mate. Pete.
